Interest in travel to America continues to grow, and we expect an extraordinary peak application period this summer. We look forward to welcoming qualified visitors to our country for tourism, business, study, cultural and other purposes. As you plan for your trips to the United States, we encourage you to plan ahead to allow us enough time to process your visa before your trip. This summer, we recommend that travelers make their appointments early and interview at least six to eight weeks before they plan to travel. This will ensure that we have plenty of time to conduct your interview, review your application, and determine whether we can issue a visa. Students who cannot get an appointment 6-8 weeks before their program start date should send a fax to (86-24) 2323-1465 to request an earlier interview appointment. General Information
Nonimmigrant Visas (NIV) are for non-American citizens and non-legal-permanent residents who plan to travel to the U.S. temporarily for business, education or tourism.
The Consulate processes nonimmigrant visas for applicants who normally reside in Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang. Applications for nonimmigrant visas to the U.S. are reviewed at the Consulate Monday-Friday from 8:00am-1:00pm, except U.S. and Chinese holidays.
